Christmas Eve, 2020
It's been a strange old year, and Christmas Eve under lockdown is stranger still. But we didn't want the year to close without saying a proper thank you to everyone who's supported us through it.
We've been trading in Lancashire for 22 years now, and this year tested that like no other. Through it all, our customers kept finding us - cadets kitting out for whatever training they could still get to, bushcraft folk making the most of local walks with a hammock and tarp, and a fair few of you just looking for something warm and waterproof to get through a strange winter.
The Polish Lavvu moment
If you were around back in the spring, you'll remember the great Polish Lavvu tent rush - prices on the wholesale side went up faster than we could relist them, and we did our best to hold the line on price for as long as we could before we simply ran out of stock. That's lockdown retail in a nutshell: chaos, scarcity, and customers being remarkably good-humoured about the whole thing.

To everyone who ordered from us this year, waited patiently for slower-than-usual deliveries, or just dropped us a nice message - thank you. Small independent shops like ours don't get through a year like this without people choosing to shop with us on purpose, and we don't take that for granted.

At age fifty-nine I’ve been keen on militaria for fifty years, now and my first bayonet purchase a first world War butcher m98 for fifty pence, I remember. So as the new year bells ring out it also chimes when I see military art prices!!!
Whilst I am not a ‘heavy volume’ purchaser from yourselves, I have bought things regularly over the last few years. Your customer service has always been outstanding and, personally, I always find your website one of the easier ones to navigate and use. So … if you’re going to be even better organised in the future, that augurs well for us customers! I’d like to thank all of the team and wish you well for the remainder of the holiday period and through into 2021. Even now in our more enlightened times, it takes courage to open up about mental health issues and to support others. I applaud you for doing so. Many thanks!!
